you should top the mother plant. just make the cut above the desired node, i ever topped a few plants on the 2nd and 3rd node, but i would recommend making the cut above the 6th node or so.

yea dude you should do some research, but if you want the quickest go 12/12 from seed, and try to pack as much in their as you can.

it`ll be fine,and you should be topping atleast the 3rd node anyway, i usually top at the 4th-6th node. but your okay. hell i have even topped at the first node, took awhile to recover but yea you get my point.

it really depends on the fertlizers, is this a hydro shop, or just a regular grow shop? you could just ask them for basic fertlizer for tomatoes. or go back and check out all the brands and whatnot and go back to your computer and do some research and see if they will be good for cannabis. so...

you could defiently grow any strain in soil and get amazing results, and as far as a good strain to start off with, their are so many, but northern lights is pretty resealent and tough, in my opinion but if you sucessful grow some bagseed first, then you could pretty much go with most strains...
