sup barkin bud how much the mylar sheeting cost you mate?
Hi Cyrus, it was either £1.20 or £1.40 a meter, can't recall which but, it wasn't expensive,
Highly recommend it though, it makes a heap of difference and puts your grow area into another category altogether.

Word up Bmad....so Alice is nothing you need to worry about yet as far as height goes...my sativa I harvested a few weeks back only grew a few inches after going into flower...try to take a look at the pics to get an idea of how much growth you will have...take a look...i hope this is helpful....it stayed in the same pot in all the pics so try to just compare it to the size of the pot....
Nice one Honkeytown, that's very reassuring I thought Sativas grew like mad when flowering, I guess a lot depends on genetics and set-up etc but I am going to veg her for another week or two yet.
I'm still waiting for my clones to root, they should have done so by now but I think the rockwool was too dry.
Yours are looking great bro.

Great news on the females! your off to a great ratio, I got 8 out of 11 and i was absolutley stoked. Makes for a great set up to mother plants when you break over 50% ratio, are you gonna mother any plants to take clones from.

Thanks OB.
Yes I am going to use Genie as a mother.
I have already taken some cutting from her but am struggling to get them to root.
Then yesterday I re-potted her and knocked off her bottom branch (I'm hoping it hasn't hurt her at all) so I have put that in water.
I have three clones in water and three in rockwool.
I will do my next cuttings depending on the success of the two different methods

Hey OB!
Have you had any success yet getting your clones to root. What method are you using?
I seen to recall you using a glass tank with a heat pad.
Are you going to start a new journal for them?

Because I am skint I have been just smoking in the evening.
I got a bit of bud this morning and treated myself to an early spliff, man, bad move. It's put me on my arse and I'll be lucky if i can even walk the dogs now, lol .:joint:

ha ha ha...you Bmad....as far as clones in tanks go...I would be using my old lizard tank had I not broken it cleaning it to use drunk.....hmm...yeah...would have been perfect...if you can get your hands on a small tank use it...personally after reading all about clones and doin these ones...I will be going with a tank myself....a little bit of wet soil mixed with a bit of rooting hormone with a few fluoro tubes over it....just gimme a few weeks....lol...cause I need plants big enough to clone...ha...I may go take some more clones of the trainwreck from my buddy today for shits and giggles cause i plan on doing some grow shopping today...so much damn fun....smoke another spliffy for me...who needs to be productive today anyway ha..:blsmoke:

Thats exactly what I have got. Its a glass tank with a heat-pad underneath.
I have a 20watt fluoro on top, the soil was misted and the rockwool cubes too, then I just left them for 10 days.
The clones have looked fine the whole time but when I checked them for roots yesterday the rockwool was bone dry.
I have wet it again and will keep an eye on it this time.
Because the glass remained steamed up I took it for granted that there was moisture in the cubes.

I just went to take these pics and saw my flower room had crept up to 90 degrees!!!
Jeeps! I switched my fan so that is is blowing across the light and out the door, my temps dropped to 80 in less than 2 minutes.
Thank God for that, phewie!
Heres a pic with the fan at the back.

The orange bucket has water in it to give the room some humidity. I think it is still pretty dry in there, I don't have a meter to take any readings.

I am going to put a small UVB in there soon. just in one corner, I'm hoping it will replicate sunlight better and improve the quality of the bud and number of trics. More on that later.

This plant just had the initial 'H', he turned out to be a male and was put outside. I now call him 'Hash' for obvious reasons.bongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmilie
He is just over 2ft tall and is one of my biggest plants.
here's a couple of pics just to keep the journal going.

I'm not 100% sure what I am going to do with this one, I might just leave him to flower naturally but it will be a while before that happens so i could end up changing my mind. There is a slight risk where he is at the moment.
I have put my other two males into flower.

Edit: The carpet is there because it covers a compost heap next to the plant.

The thc in the leaves of your male plant will be at max just as the first pollen sacks start to open. It took about 1 to 1-1/2 week for mine after I found the first balls.

Also just give them water the last 10 or so day. Then you can dry the leaves untill they are just moist, smoke them and you will have a good idea of what the ladys will be like. If you make hash they need to be 100% dry. (silk screen way).

I have some pic in my journal of making hash. for 20 grams of very dry leaf I got 1.7 gram of yellow hash dust. I got 70+ grams of dry leaves off 4 plants from 30" to just over 40" tall. And the smoke from just the leave is very good,

Yes i was hoping the leaves will cover me for a week or two as I am struggling to pay for the bud, that the whole point of this grow.
My harvest will not be much more than the cost so I am trying to get some clones going to make this worthwhile.

For cloning invest in one of those hotbox's i got one for under 30 and it is the reason my clones have rooted- it has a little warming pad- rooters, rooting tray, and humidity dome with air ports. Works great- cant rep it enough

But your on track, good to hear, get that free train wreck if you can!

Oh man it's all going wrong today.
My mother for cloning (Genie)
got re-potted the other day, I snapped off one of her bottom branches right from the stem so there was nothing left to trim and clean it up.

I am hoping it hasn't hurt the plant but today there are brown rusty looking spots on the leaves mostly along the veins. It looks a little bit like calcium deficiency or even Boron but I can't be sure.
To make matters worse, something has gone wrong with either my camera or my computer.
When I connect the camera to the computer it just comes up "unknown driver" so I cant upload any pictures.

I tried to put the disc in and install the software but it didnt make any difference, it was all done on the net the first time I used it.

Any ideas anyone?

Assuming that you are running Windows and your camera uses a USB port, delete the driver and then reboot your computer. You should then be able to reinstall the driver from your camera disk. Last, plug in your camera and Windows should find the new driver.

when I first plugged it in. windows found and installed the latest driver and it has been working fine now all of a sudden I am getting a message about unknown usb device and something about a device malfunction, or possibly device driver malfunction but I can not find the driver to delete or uninstall

I mentioned a couple of days ago about UVB light.
I was talking to someone on another thread (possibly cloudflyer, not sure) and we were discussing light and light spectrums, I was given this link to a Mr Marijuana Bud tv video in which he talked about research into Trichomes and THC and why the plant produces THC. As well all know, nature doesn't do anything without reason and the only benefit the plant gets from THC is protection from the suns UVB.

Here is the link to the video. It's a little long winded but very interesting.
YouTube - THC, UVB and Me

As a result of this study, I am adding some UVB to one of my plants to see if it produces more trics or more potent buds or both.

personally, I don't think it's likely to make any difference but, if you don't try, you don't know.

I am using a 5.0 UVB lamp which is not very strong but will be enough to make some difference if indeed it does work.

OK the pics.
Pic 1 is the light with the support I have made for it.
Pic 2 is just showing the view from behind so you can see where it is in the flower room.
Pic 3 is showing the proximity of the light to the plant.
Pic 4 is just a shot I took just after the HPS was switched off. the UVB is still on. These were taken yesterday and are the last pics I managed to upload before my camera decided it doesn't want to play anymore.

I have moved thing around a little and am using the UVB on a different plant. It is still just inside the door but it is on the right and 'Biga', is my guinea pig plant as it has sites on the sides (where the light is concentrated) that look like they will bud.
