We're having a conversation about it. All arguments in defense of the CCP have fallen flat. That's a start.

Companies are leaving China and the price of Chinese stuff is going up.

Not just the price of Chinese stuff. I was going to reorder some Butterscotch Krimpet Tastycakes and the price has skyrocketted.
I got 2 packs of 24 for $14.99 March 13th and now today they want $19.99.
Amazon is looking bad. Amazon Prime is not really working anymore. Im going to brush it off for now but keeping an ear out for some of these billionaires to donate in a big way to help out .

No. Not all semiconductors are made in China. It's worth it to pay more for South Korean and Japanese stuff. Even flash memory made in Thailand is much better. You'd be surprised, the stuff that's made in China is mostly assembled and packaged there. It's soldered and 3d printed there. It's almost never designed there. Components made elsewhere go there to be made into products in mass assembly lines. The semiconductors made there are nothing special. They are all still affected by China because that is the nature of markets. When a country can no longer supply a portion of the demand, other countries see more demand and price goes up. Also, many rare earths are mined in China, also affecting supply and cost, but only because the PRC was allowed to put everyone else out of business because they were given special trade status while basically enslaving their populace to bring those elements to market cheaper than anyone else could.

Weening off PRC's cheap junk would be easier than you think.

The electronics markets of shenzhen are legendary for volume, cost and variety. I've been buying their flight controller boards and other electronic gear from them for a while. All the RC hobbyist stuff is made there and traditional costly old supply chains have pretty much dried up. I won't be ordering much more from them cause I'm considering getting out of the hobby, or I should say I'm being regulated out of existence by the government. I'm licensed and have to keep flight and maintenance logs on custom built fucking model aircraft and drones! Now they want to track me in the sky and allow anybody to finger me for anything at all. I can't even dive a fucking mountain in the sticks and to post videos is to invite prosecution. Life is a bitch and I don't expect to fly much this summer either, so there ain't no point ordering fresh LiPo's.

Did I say semiconductors? I don’t believe I did. Yes I know that most things manufactured in China was designed elsewhere and yes I know that what comes out of there is nothing special. But I do know that the shit we have has a high content of Chinese originated components. And yes I do believe weening off would be disruptive but not impossible. There are many countries we could find to exploit for the quest of cheap labor.

Sure the wet markets are an issue, and they should be banned, but that's just one way novel viruses can arise. Bill Gates warned the world 5 years ago to be ready. You should be more angry with global leadership, and your own government specifically for not taking the issue seriously. Especially your for profit health care system, you'd get far better returns worrying about that than worrying about China. It happened, and a pandemic will happen again along with that other pesky issue called climate change.

If we had to worry about every time a nation made a bad decision we could sit around and point fingers all night. Like I said get Trump to allocate some of that military money or some of thqt corporate welfare fund into health care and pandemic preparedness and you'll see far more results than boycotting Walmart.

No. It doesn't. It's done absolutely nothing to flatten the curve. It's done absolutely nothing to enable pediatricians to make housecalls, which are desperately needed for the routine shit that's becoming non-covid related emergencies. It's done nothing to protect the medical staff on the frontline from getting overwhelmed and infected.

We can get treatment here in America too.

I don't think any country was properly prepared for this pandemic, it's China's government that is at fault for the outbreak. China's government should've put the world on alert right away when people started getting sick and dying, the rest of the world could've started preparing better for what was coming

It's China's governments fault. Period
