Here we are, exactly 3 weeks into 12/12. I've kept the 650R at 80% and am almost as high as I can go with it with the normal mounting hardware, although I can usually find a way to get them higher with zip ties and tape, haha. I think this height is perfect-the tallest buds are at 24 inches, the majority of the canopy is about 28-30 inches. Most have slowed their stretch to the minimum at this point. I haven't mentioned this, but I'm actually doing 3 different nutrient formulas. 1. my regular .9 EC half/half Maxi bloom/grow (+fulvic, seaweed, yucca) 2. CSL 3. 50/50 #1 and #2. I kept ending up with some of the CSL left, so I mixed in some of the Maxi formula just to see what happens. 3 separate plants don't give great side by side results, except, I can at least tell if the formula will grow a decent plant, and as you can see, at 3 weeks in, we should see the weaknesses in a formula at this point near the end of the stretch phase, but so far they look good.
I also went through and sniffed as many flowers as possible, and I'm really excited about one C99 in particular. I was hoping for a pineapple pheno, but I ended up getting a Juicy Fruit pheno instead. Now, I don't know if it's as good as the other Juicy Fruit pheno's I've seen from people, but that smell is unmistakable, it's exactly like opening a fresh pack of Juicy Fruit gum, and STRONG terps for 3 weeks. Thing is, early terps often change, so all I can do is hope this one lasts.
I took a bunch of shots to compare the leaf shapes on the C99s. I remember my old Cindy from FDM in the 00s was narrow leaf.
Sweet Tooth #4-you can see the stigma's turning brown due to successful pollination on the foremost flower. Right now, this plant has a deep smelling citrus, I can tell it's going to reek.
ESB-Nice little plant so far, fairly narrow leaves despite being a hybrid, this very well may be the sleeper hit of this cycle! Can't really describe the terps yet.
I think this is the Juicy Fruit-it actually started with very thick leaves but as you can see, they changed drastically from one node to the next. I hate generic, sickly sweet terps in general, but I love identifiable fruit flavors-blueberry, pineapple, strawberry, etc. This juicy fruit is just amazing, it's the kind of sweetness you never will get sick of, kind of like good Bubblegum terps.
Same plant I think. Btw, I hit the Juicy Fruit plant with multiple C99 males, so growing a few of each out should make for a good future Journal.
This Cindy also has promise, I think it's going to grow beastly colas....which reminds me, I need to give these girls their third (and last) dose of aspirin. I want them to have their best ability to avoid botrytis. I'm really happy with the leaf condition of my plants for this stage of growth since I'm messing around with their nutrients so much.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my plants, have a great weekend everyone!
